Managing a Temporary Pharmacy Closure

If an emergency situation means a pharmacy needs to close for a short period, there are actions a contractor needs to undertake to ensure patients are able to access their prescriptions and that the contractor’s business can resume easily and effectively once the emergency has passed.

PSNC have recently updated their guidance on what contractors must do if this situation arises.

Additionally, they have published a couple of posters for contractor use – one for the pharmacy that is closing to use and another for other local pharmacies to use if they get inundated with (inpatient) patients.
