Adam Irvine

A Irvine – 2023 Adam qualified as a pharmacist in 2000. Adam has had a variety of roles within independent pharmacies and company chemist association member companies and has worked as a community pharmacist in all the areas our geography covers – Warrington, Cheshire East, Wirral and Cheshire West. Adam spent his early career at Boots the Chemist, from pre-registration in Bootle to his last Boots role as Group Pharmacy Manager for Warrington. Adam then moved to LloydsPharmacy as Cluster Manager and quickly moved to a Clinical Development Manager role where he looked after new services to both the NHS and private organisations across the North West, culiminating in a national Executive Business Development Manager role with a particularly focus on hospital outpatient dispensaries. Adam has led the Greater Manchester Local Pharmaceutical Committee as CEO through its inception as a merger of 6 LPCs to its successful relationship formation within the system over the first two years, with a provider company, joint commissioning model and healthcare academy.

Adam brings a wealth of experience in business development, service redesign and NHS relationship management which will be critical in the delivery of our strategy for community pharmacy in Cheshire & Wirral and its contractors at this important time.

Suzanne Austin

S Austin – 2023 Suzanne qualified as a pharmacist in 1990 after graduating from Bath University and completing her pre-registration training with P Williams Chemists. Suzanne was with P Williams for seventeen years in many roles from relief manager, branch manager, practice pharmacist in three GP funding holding practices and NHS services manager. During this time she completed an MSc in Community Pharmacy from Keele University. In 2006 she joined the Co-operative Pharmacy working in the Business Development Team and the Superintendent’s Office.  She was appointed as Chair Local Professional Network NHS England (Cheshire, Warrington and Wirral) in September 2013. She joined the LPC as a committee member in 1991 followed by an employee role from 2002 which continues.
Gary Pickering

Pharmacy Services Manager

G Pickering – 2023 Gary qualified as a Pharmacist in 1999 after spending his early career as a hospital based Pharmacy Technician. After graduating from Liverpool John Moores University, he did his Pre-Registration programme with Cubbin & Sons Pharmacies, where he stayed for ten years in a variety of roles including that of Superintendent Pharmacist.

Following a geographical move he was then employed as a Pharmacy Manager by Lloyds, and became heavily involved in services through appointment to Ashton, Leigh & Wigan LPC as a CCA Rep. Following several projects he took up the role of Professional Support Manager for Lloyds, and was responsible for service delivery and professional standards across Greater Manchester. During this period he spent some time on Greater Manchester LPC following its creation, and has since also served as a committee member on Bolton LPC.

In recent years he has returned to Cubbins Pharmacies, once again as the Superintendent. Alongside this he has also taken up the role of Services Manager for CPCW covering the Wirral & Warrington areas. Gary is currently working on a project covering the rollout of the GPCPCS service, with a focus on the training & engagement of GP surgeries.

Alison Williams

Business Support Officer

A Williams – 2023 Alison’s first role was as a junior secretary for ICI Chemicals & Polymers in 1988.  During her 13 years at ICI she was located at a number of sites and progressed through the company to become an IT Project Manager; she spent from 1993 to 1997 travelling to Liverpool 2 nights a week to gain a Business Studies degree from Liverpool John Moores University.

Alison joined the ‘world of pharmacy’ in 2004 when she took on the role of part-time Administrator for North Cheshire LPC, expanding her role by joining South Cheshire LPC a couple of years later followed by Wirral LPC. Alison continues in the role of Business Support Officer for CPCW and is the minutes secretary for the Mersey Association of LPCs (MALPs).

Sara Davies

S Davies – 2023 Sara’s working background has been in pharmacy for the past 13 years as pharmacy dispenser. She has mostly worked within the community pharmacy setting and has a good knowledge of how community pharmacies operate and the policies and procedures in place; she also understands the pressures upon community pharmacies.

Sara also works as an Engagement Officer for Sefton LPC and has been doing this for a couple years. Her role at CPCW is to support staff and contractors within the pharmacy sector by providing a one-to-one service to each pharmacy providing support, training and knowledge.
